Worship

At the heart of the Christian faith and the heart of Christian worship is a meal.... In the Service of Holy Communion, we gather around the table of the Lord to remember all that Jesus did and to feed on his risen life. The Church authorises a form of worship (or ‘liturgy’) which is intended to be as faithful and honouring to God as it is possible to make it. At Holy Trinity Riverbend, we use the Book of Alternative Services. It is through encountering God within worship that we are formed and transformed as his people.

We love children and the excitement and energy they bring to our congregation. To help in their spiritual journey, after the opening part of the worship service we offer our children a structured and fun Sunday School, with the children re-joining us at the Peace for communion.

All those who are baptized are welcome to receive both the bread and the wine. If you are not baptized, you are welcome to receive a blessing and encouraged to see our priest about being baptized.

Most of all, Holy Trinity Riverbend seeks to combine a more formal, liturgical worship style with a laid-back and informal welcome and way of being. Whoever you are and wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here!
